Red Bull Wings for Life World #RunForConnie

The Red Bull Wings For Life World Run 2016 took place on the 7 May at the Supersport Park in Centurion and Publicis Machine were there to show their support.

All across the world people stood anxiously waiting in their sweatbands and takkies for the clock to strike as we would all begin our race at the very same time from our various starting lines.

With 100% of all of the entry fees going toward Spinal Cord Research, we as a JHB agency, decided to do things a little bit differently this year and #RunForConnie! Our very own Constance Yena became our beacon and we all started the race together and pushed her in her wheelchair along with us driving the reality of the cause even further into our hearts.

Not only did we have the most amazing time pushing our bodies physically, we were also able to push our minds as we ran that extra little bit further and harder for those who are not able to run at all.

Spinal cord injuries, we learned, do not have to be a life sentence. There are amazing researchers working as we speak to find the solution which will changes millions of individuals lives and give them the freedom to do the simple task of walking that we so often can easily take for granted. It is not a matter of if a cure can be found but when, and we as Publicis Machine were proud to be able to show our support for something so beautiful.

Plus, our Sunday funday was sorted- just what we needed to cure that long weekend worth of self-indulgence in cake and wine.
