Group Head of Strategy , Publicis Communications
Moagi's career began in Media and Journalism at Financial Mail before consumer journalism at the iconic Drum Magazine as Deputy Editor, tasked with leading the editorial team to deliver the editorial strategy to service a fast-evolving readership base.
He left journalism and moved to Yellowwood, a leading strategic marketing consultancy in South Africa, as a Strategist to hone his strategic thinking skills.
While there he worked on many top brands across many categories: financial services, food and beverages, hospitality, media, motoring and manufacturing and fashion and retail to name a few. He gained client-side marketing experience when he joined Vodacom in 2011 and half years where he performed a number of roles, namely Strategy and Planning in Products and Services Marketing, Music Sponsorships and Segment Marketing.
Before joining Publicis Commiunications he was Strategy Director at the advertising agency MetropolitanRepublic where he led the Strategic Planning efforts for MTN across a number of African markets.

Gareth has the pleasure of leading the creativity of Publicis Machine South Africa, a 60-people strong integrated agency and home to some of the world’s best brands.
As one of the founding partners of Machine, he and the leadership team have catapulted the young agency to be a force in the industry, having won ‘break-through-agency of the year’, being recognised as National Agency ‘one-to-watch’, ranking in the top 10 creative agencies in South Africa, and most recently being placed in the top 8 EMA agencies at Cannes.
Over his 17 year career, Gareth has produced many iconic campaigns for a multitude of blue-chip clients. His work has been awarded at both local and international award shows. He has chaired and judged at various creative festivals and is a member of the IAB, Creative Circle and the Publicis Worldwide Creative Board.
Passionate about the development of talent, he contributes to the Red & Yellow Springboard Leadership Programme and the Vega School Advisory Council.
Managing Director , Publicis Machine
As a natural people leader with an inherent business savviness, Neal leads integrated, through-the-line agency, Publicis Machine, as managing director. Early in his career and at a time when digital was still gaining traction, Neal launched RamsayMedia’s digital business. Less than a decade later it was already delivering audience sizes larger than traditional print, with significant revenue. Neal was also a founding member of the Online Publishers Association that is today the IAB. A decade later in 2009, he switched to content marketing, delivering both traditional and digital customer-engaging solutions for blue chip brands Sanlam and Toyota. Then in 2012 he co-founded Narrative, a digital-first content marketing specialist agency within the Publicis Machine stable that very quickly attracted Sanlam and Massbuild. In 2015 Narrative was a finalist for Specialist Agency of the Year at AdFocus and has won multiple industry publishing awards every year. Neal is a respected people leader (and mentor) with a keen ability to provide teams with a shared vision and mission. Talent development and team culture are at the centre of a successful team environment where staff are encouraged to challenge convention while living the never afraid mantra in our digitally connected world.

It is Marc’s interest in understanding human behaviour and his desire to help make brands part of culture that has forged his advertising career. 16 years on, and this passion has led him to Publicis Machine as Head of Strategy.
His journey in the advertising industry started in Johannesburg where he worked at Publicis as a junior strategic planner. He later joined MullenLowe, Johannesburg (previously known as LoweBull) and then transferred to MullenLowe, London. Marc returned to South Africa in 2011 and helped start Machine, and the wheel came full circle when the agency was acquired by Publicis in 2014.
Throughout his career, Marc has worked on a diverse range of brands across multiple markets, and he picked up some sought-after awards along the way. Some of these brands include Johnson & Johnson, Unilever (OMO, Domestos, Handy Andy, Sunlight), Nestlé (Maggie), AB InBev (Stella Artois, Beck’s Beer), Pernod Ricard (Glenlivet, Martell Cognac), Red Bull, SAAB, Chevrolet, Jaguar Land Rover, PSG, DirectAxis, Sanlam, Emirates and Virgin Active.
Head of Operations and Traffic , Publicis Machine
20 years of experience in the field has led Michelle to her position as Head of Operations and Traffic at Publicis Machine. Having starting her career in Direct Marketing she soon learned the benefits of efficient processes within a business and how to master implementing them. She built on this skill by entering the digital space with project oversight of tech and websites builds for the American and UK markets.
From managing traffic, production and DTP, to mothering the creative studio as a whole, Michelle brings a sense of order and calm to the agency

Kate has represented both South Africa and the United Kingdom in triathlon, competing in numerous world championships. It’s with this same competitive, never afraid energy that she takes on new challenges and pushes boundaries as Head of Talent at Publicis Machine.
Kate has been involved in coaching, learning and development for over 10 years. At Publicis Machine she focuses her energy on building the culture that the company is so well known for. Her key focus areas are attracting the best talent, onboarding every new start and retaining the top teams.
The core company values are woven into all communication, reviews, activities and are at the forefront of developing the talent. Kate has managed to innovate and stay ahead of the times digitally by implementing online learning platforms, studio immersions and developing future leaders.
Kate’s leadership has kept culture at the centre of everything Publicis Machine is. She leads a team that unites the agency and makes sure that we are in tune with popular culture.
Group Finance Director , Publicis Machine
Nicky started her career in finance as a Chartered Accountant graduate from the University of Cape Town. After obtaining this grounding in accounting and finance, Nicky went on to gain cross-functional experience at Levi Strauss & Co over a period of 13 years. She held several roles, including Brand Director, Acting General Manager and Finance Director.
It was with this background that Nicky moved into the advertising industry. She began working for Saatchi&Saatchi BrandsRock in 2012 and eventually moved to her position as revered Group Finance Director at Publicis Machine, following both companies being acquired by the Publicis Groupe.
